After much controversy, Shahrukh Khan agrees to visit Malacca to receive Datukship by the Malaysian Government. Malacca Chief Minister Mohd Ali Rustam confirms the news as he has told the tabloid that the Bollywood superstar is coming to Malacca next month. Earlier it was decided that the award ceremony would be held on Governor Mohd Khalil Yaakob’s 70th birthday and the award would be presented by the Malacca's head of state, Mohamad Khalil Yaakoob himself. Though Chief Minister has told the Star newspaper's online edition ‘Shahrukh has agreed to accept the award and this message was conveyed to the governor's office. He will try to make it in November, however the date of the ceremony is yet to be fixed’. Shahrukh Khan has been awarded with such a prestigious award for his outstanding promotion of Malacca tourism through his films. This was an issue of controversy and had been a subject of debate on the Malaccan Parliament. But after all these, there is no news of retracting the award. So it’s the time to celebrate the coming of another feather on King Khan’s crown.
